Today is my birthday, and amongst the cards, cakes, and celebrations, my wife surprised me with something that instantly transported me back to the 1980s…

A Masters of the Universe Power Sword.

Not just any toy. Not just another collectible.

The Power Sword.

The very symbol of one of the greatest toy lines and cartoons ever created.

If you’re of a certain age, you’ll remember exactly what happened whenever Prince Adam raised that sword high into the air and shouted those immortal words:

“By the Power of Grayskull… I HAVE THE POWER!”

For millions of children around the world, that wasn’t just a catchphrase. It was a weekly invitation to adventure, imagination, heroes, villains, castles, monsters, and epic battles between good and evil.

And now this fantastic replica sword has joined our growing Masters of the Universe display at the Boldon Toy Collection.

From this weekend, visitors will be able to see the Power Sword alongside our collection of Masters of the Universe figures and memorabilia spanning both the classic vintage line and the newer generations of characters and releases.

One of the things I love most about toy collecting is how quickly a single item can unlock decades of memories. A figure, a vehicle, a sword, a playset… suddenly you’re eight years old again and the living room floor has become Eternia.
